East New York, Brooklyn (WABC) – A woman’s torso was found in a shopping cart in Brooklyn on Thursday morning.

Around 1:45 a man stumbled upon a cart on Atlantic Avenue and Pennsylvania Avenue in East New York.

He started pushing the cart before deciding to peek inside the bag.

In the bag he found the torso of an adult woman who was believed to be white or Hispanic.

The body did not seem to decompose.

Authorities say there were no shootings or stab wounds, and the woman had no identifying marks or tattoos on that part of her body.

Police searched nearby areas but found no more body parts.

A review of the cameras on Atlantic Avenue has not yet revealed anything.

A forensic examination will try to determine the identity of the woman and the cause of death.

There were no arrests.
